UAB MiniCamps 2019
May 13-14 || May 15-16

This May we are excited to host UAB MiniCamps for the second year in a row! Join us as we welcome 500 10th grade GEAR UP Alabama students to UAB's campus during two separate MiniCamp sessions. These camps are designed to let our students experience the "day in the life" of a UAB student as they prepare to begin making decisions regarding their own college and career journey. Our volunteers will work to help us run the camp program, which will include guiding students around campus, leading small groups, eating meals with students, facilitating activities, and more. These students will be traveling from the Black Belt Region of Alabama to spent just over twenty-four hours on campus. They are the most incredible high school students you'll ever meet and we want to give them the best experience possible, but we can't do that without you!

Last year, one student called MiniCamp "one of the best experiences of [his] life," something we know wouldn't be true without the help of our volunteers. We hope you can join us as we work to make our students' dreams their reality.

Not available to volunteer due to financial or housing reasons? No worries. Contact Ashton Ray to learn about the paid positions available for a select group of UAB students.
