This Fall, the GEAR UP Alabama team is excited to announce our Student Writing Ambassador Program!

The student writing ambassador program that will give our students the opportunity to improve your writing skills and add professional writing experience to your resume. We want our students to write stories (with prompts and assignments given by a supervisor) inviting our audience into your experience as a GEAR UP Alabama student.

We are so excited for this program to get started. Our goal is to have at least one ambassador from each GUA school, and to have these students providing the GUA audience with news and updates from their region of the world. 

To qualify for the ambassador program, they have to be a GUA student who wants to improve their writing skills. In addition, they must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and no more than five absences for the current school year. You must be able to write one to two stories a month and willing to work with your supervisor to edit, rewrite, and improve your stories as instructed.

There will be a lot of one-on-one work with your supervisor, as the ultimate goal of this program is to improve your writing, grammar, and professional skills. It will require time, effort, and hard work, but will give you valuable experience to put on your resume.

The deadline to apply for the 2018-2019 school year is Monday, September 17th.
